This is a good wall mounted reading light. It has the longest reach of any wall mounted reading light I could find. It is sturdy and can be positioned a number of different ways. The end shade can be rotated from side to side but cannot be swiveled up and down. This is not a problem as you can move the lamp arms to get the light pointed in any direction. People may get confused with two holes in the shade. The side one is the one the lamp arm connects to. The other hole is for ventilation as the bulb gets hot. The light is bright for reading. Comes with two xenon bulbs so you get a spare.
The quibbles: The instructions are abbreviated. There are things that could be clearer. They could provide things like the drill bit size for the anchor holes.
The anchors that come with packaging are to small for the mounting screws. They don't have a lip. Large screw, no lip on anchor, the anchor falls through the hole in the drywall.
You only get one hide away metal strip. The lights it is replacing came with two. Unfortunately the old ones are gold.
When installed the light switch on the cord is near the floor. Not a problem if you are hard wiring the lamp. I am not sure what the solution should be but it might be nice to have the switch near the shade.
The lamp comes packed in crumbly Styrofoam. The little broken of pelts get all over the place and cling to everything. Aggravating packaging that is just future landfill forever.
