First, the installation of the hardware in the hot water heater was a fair bit of work–several hours (with our water heater in our attic), and the directions were not the clearest. Second, the remote could not be synched with the water heater with our portable phones operating (on 915 MHz). Last, when the remote appears to be cooperating with the water heater, it is still very difficult to use, taking a lot of time messing with the buttons on the remote to get anything to happen211;setting the temperature with the remote seems to be a hit or miss operation–mostly miss. Pressing the buttons on the remote to change the water heater temperature only occasionally does anything! This was a waste of a lot of money and a lot of time.
