all in all SOG did a wonderful job with the design of this knife. it is thick and durable and razor sharp. the only thing I didn't like so much is that the finish scratches easily. However, that has nothing to do with it functionality.

Edit: 7/2012, My initial statements still stand regarding the out of box design/appearance. However, after 6 months or so of moderate camping use, the true quality was apparent:

1. About 1/2 inch of the tip of the blade broke off one day when I dropped the knife on a log. I wasn't being abusive to the knife just dropped it from about 2' and it landed on it's side.

2. The "full tang" is actually a thin piece of weak metal (smaller than a pencil) that broke one day when I was doing some light chopping. This knife is not meant to be a durable camping knife. It's place is on the shelf as a display piece.

This knife is in a price range where durability should matter at least somewhat. So if your looking for a flashy showoff knife and not a workhorse tool, then this is the knife for you. I personally will never buy from SOG again.
